Performance Announcement: June 19

Friday, June 19: 2/3 of the Great Divide will be performing at Wilson Winery's Bring Your Own Meat event. John can't make it, so it will be Ron & Ric performing. The two of them put on a nice show and trade off instruments and do some tunes that they don't perform as the full Great Divide. The grills are usually hot by 6:30. Come out and have a picnic. Enjoy the wine, the music and the summer evening.

Gig Report: Friday, June 12 @ Wilson Winery

The Great Divide performed at Wilson Winery the evening of June 12. Ervin Batchelor performed with them on mandolin. There was a good crowd and the weather was perfect. The band sounded great. It was fun to have a mandolin in the mix again. We hope to have some pictures to post eventually.

Performance Announcement: June 12

The Great Divide will be performing at Wilson Winery outside Modoc, IN on Friday, June 12 from 6:30 - 10:00. Sitting in with Ron, John & Ric will be their friend, Ervin Batchelor, on mandolin. No cover charge; the band will pass the hat.

Erv is an old friend of the band. We met him when he was living in Muncie working on his doctorate at Ball State (15 years ago? or more?). He sat in with us several times when Pete Evans (former band member) had an injured arm and could not play. Erv lives in North Carolina now and is coming back to visit & play this gig. We are all really excited to get to play together again. It should be some really great music.

This is a "Bring Your Own Meat" event at the winery. The winery provides grills, tables, chairs. You bring your picnic, your meat for the grill, and a dish to share with the crowd, if you want. Wine is for sale (of course). It is an outdoor venue. In case of rain, the band will set up inside.

Come join us for a fun evening of great music.

Gig Report: Friday, June 5

Ron played a solo gig last night (June 5) at Wilson Winery. The weather was great and he had a nice crowd. He sounded great, too. He has just recently put together his solo material again. He used to do solo gigs a lot (many many years ago), but had been focusing mostly on group performances in recent times. So it has been nice to hear him play on his own.

He performed a couple of originals, as well as covers of a wide variety of artists.
